Employee orientation checklist template

Before the Employee's First Day:

  • Send a welcome email with information about the first day, such as the start time and location.

  • Provide a job description and information about the position.

  • Send any necessary paperwork or forms for the employee to complete before their first day.


On the Employee's First Day:

  • Welcome the employee and give them a tour of the workplace.

  • Introduce the employee to their colleagues and supervisor.

  • Review the company's mission and values.

  • Provide an overview of the employee benefits package.

  • Provide a copy of the employee handbook.

  • Review company policies and procedures.

  • Explain safety guidelines and emergency procedures.

  • Provide training on any necessary equipment or software.

  • Set up the employee's workstation and provide any necessary equipment.


During the First Week:

  • Schedule meetings with the employee's supervisor and colleagues to discuss job responsibilities and expectations.

  • Provide any necessary training or job-specific information.

  • Review the company's communication channels and expectations.

  • Schedule a follow-up meeting to answer any questions the employee may have.
